Recently, we held some training seminars for our clients, highlighting some common web editing techniques, including editing images, google analytics, and creating social media accounts. Twitter Hacks

As well as managing Lynx Technical Solutions twitter feed, I also manage the one for Shuswap Events Bulletin Board, and help with the one for Lake Country Bulletin. Over the past week or two, I have received several Direct Messages from a few followers that read: "You seen what this person is saying about you (short url) terrible things..." This is a spam message, most likely generated from a virus that has hacked that person's twitter account.

SOPA Information - Updated

SOPA stands for "Stop Online Piracy Act", and is in the process of being discussed and deliberated on by the US Congress. Essentially it would give the US Government power to take down web sites that are streaming illegal movies, TV shows, or displaying copyrighted content, that belongs to someone else, even if the web site, and it's server, are not located within the USA.

Protecting your Digital Photos

Like us, many of you most likely have a hard drive full of photos you have taken on your Digital Camera. They may be organized into named folders and labelled, going back many years, documenting vacations, holidays, birthdays, a toddler's progress or just trips to the park. But what happens if your hard drive fails? At Lynx we have managed to recover photos for our clients off their computers, but the best practice is to backup your photos so that if one computer fails, you will still have all your precious photos, that you could never get back if lost.
